Auto Repair in Jarratt, VA
The small town of Jarratt, VA, is located just west of I-95 along Blue Star Highway, about 10 miles north of Emporia. Incorporated in 1938, Jarratt covers a land area of just 1.2 square miles, home to a population of less than 1,000 people.
Jarratt stretches across both Greensville and Sussex counties at the border of the two. The community got its start as an early railroad town; it became a stop on the Petersburg Railroad in 1848, which operated for 50 years until the line was acquired by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad of Virginia. Today the Greensville Correctional Center is located just a couple miles outside of Jarratt to the southwest, separated by Hickory Swamp. The town council of Jarratt makes their meeting room and clubhouse available on a first-come, first-served basis.
