Will Proper Auto Maintenance at O'Berry's Service Center Really Save Gas?Posted November 27, 2017 10:24 AM
Have you ever thought about all the little things we do to keep our lives running smoothly - like vacuuming? It makes a room feel fresher and more comfortable. We may not consider that we're also prolonging the life of the carpet by keeping it clean. But Emporia drivers don't always extend those good habits into the garage. Our vehicles need regular maintenance just like our rugs need vacuuming. We may not notice a difference in the feel or appearance of the vehicle, but just as cleaning a carpet carries the hidden reward of prolonging its life, maintaining our vehicles incurs a hidden reward that becomes noticeable at Emporia gas stations.
Alignment and brake problems can also increase friction. Besides saving fuel, keeping these systems in good repair has the added benefit of saving you on tires and brake pads. These items wear out more quickly when the alignment is off or when the brake system isn't in good working order. Talk to your friendly and knowledgeable service advisor at O'Berry's Service Center.

It was early morning and my wife and I had just left Emporia,Va. We only made it a few miles when we got a flat tire on our Harley, leaving us stranded on the side of I-95. AAA contacted your company for a biker in distress. The treatment that we received was nothing short of amazing. The truck driver (Mike?) had all the best equipment to keep my bike safe. Right away he reassured us that he would take good care of us and he did! Most of the stress of the situation was gone immediately. We felt that someone cared. We want to thank him for bringing us to Colonial Harley where they were waiting for us (because he had the foresight to call ahead and alert them). Less than 2 hours later we were safely back on the road. Thanks to everyone!! Great job!!
When my car broke down they came immediately to get me and my mother. Very polite and fixed it as soon as they could. Was the nicest people you could ask for. I highly recommend them for your auto needs!

The engine on my motorhome overheated on the way home to Canada from Florida. We arrived at O'berrys late in the day at closing time. A diagnosis was performed and were advised that work would start the next morning. We were kindly offered to stay overnight on sight in the parking lot. The next morning work had begun as promised and we were on the road again that afternoon. This was a major job and the work done was superb. Greg and all the staff were professional, honest and kind to us through out our time there and contrary to other posts, we were not overcharged for the quality of work and parts put in to the job. Highly recommended.
I don't understand some of the other reviews posted concerning high prices. I have been a customer of O'Berry's for years and I have never been disappointed. Sure, some repairs have been costly, but Greg had to pay an employee to diagnose the problem (they used new computer diagnostic equipment), to find the parts, to order the parts, to pay for the parts, to put the parts on, to test the vehicle, and to let me know it was finished. Since I am a retired businessman myself, I understand that state of the art computer analysis equipment, tow trucks, staff to come out on that tow truck to help with emergency situations, and trained repair and office staff don't fall out of the sky free. I am not a new car owner - I hang on to mine for a long time. They have the computer equipment to diagnose the problem for all the brands I own so they get it fixed the FIRST time at a reasonable price and always honest and fair!
I broke down in the middle of the street blocking traffic and Greg came very quickly to rescue me. The staff worked hard on finding the problem and had me back up and running in no time. Great customer service and such a great Christian business. A must use business.
O'Berry's Service Center is one of the most respected and trusted auto repair stations in Virginia. Greg O'Berry, the owner, is a well-known Master Mechanic and can work on almost anything he gets his hands on. Greg is a Christian and runs his center with integrity and honesty, something not seen very often these days. I have been taking my vehicles to O'Berry's for over 10 years and even though I have moved out of the area, I will continue to bring my vehicles there due to the trust and professional service I receive. His parts, labor and services are warranted which I look for in a professional service station and not often found. His prices are fair and reflect the professional job that they do!
The most fair and honest service center in Southside Virginia. They get all of my business.
Nice folks. I broke down with an E-350 van and trailer. They came towed me to the shop and got me in quick with good service. Only complaint was price of parts and it is directly related to the company they buy from. The other parts company's price was half of the price I paid, for the same part and comes with a better warranty.
Nice polite people, with a nice shop and waiting room. Not sure what happened to John, service isn't cheap. Call anybody that comes to you on a moment's notice, and it's going to cost you. I broke down on the way to NC on I-95 in VA driving a F-450 towing a trailer, called them, and within 15 minutes they arrived. Granted I was close, but it shows they got the call and sent someone out right away. I was going to go to a Ford dealer, considering I was out of town and leery of small shops (when I'm in a hurry trying to get home), but I found out they had a shop with certified mechanics, so I decided to go there instead. With getting parts I figured I should find another way home, but to my surprise they tracked them down and had me back on the road within a few hours. Not cheap, but fair and professional.
I think they are the best. Most mechanics try replacing parts that do not need replacing. Not these guys! You will be treated fairly and honestly. Give them a try!
Always does the best work and stands behind his work. The owner is a good, honest & Christian man; who also happens to be a pastor of a local church. He has been a blessing to me & my family!!

Towed my son's truck in the middle of the night. Let us change the tire on their lot when we came to get it the next day. Even offered to lend a hand. If you need work done in the area I highly recommend O'Berrys! Great customer service!
Bruce, Greg and the guys got me back on the road after a frustrating experience with a newly installed water pump by a different shop. My car kept overheating. They took the time to properly find the root cause and fix the issue. Definitely recommend this shop. Honest guys, very knowledgeable and well versed in all types of cars. I had a BMW 3-Series.
Excellent service!!! I'm from New Jersey and the previous day I had an oil change done on my vehicle to prepare for a trip to the Carolina's, but mid drive I hear a loud thud, and my oil light starts flashing, so I pull over. I spoke with Mike on the phone and he quickly towed me in. He was very kind. Then Brandon and Bruce diagnosed my vehicle. Turns out that the shop that had done the oil change previously didn't tighten my drain plug and it came out! Needless to say, I was in a bit of a dilemma but these guys got me right up and running and back on track to my vacation! I recommend them to everyone!
We are from MA traveling to NC and lost all our lug nuts and tire on I- 95 south. O'berrys was the only shop willing to take the truck at 4:40pm. They did their best to finish that day but had it ready in the morning for us. I don't know what we would have done without Bruce and his employees they were all very kind and extremely helpful. I would recommend them to anyone in that area or just passing thru like we were.
On Friday, I had an unexpected encounter with O' Berry's'I had a flat tire on I-95, while heading to Florida! A kind Trooper stopped, helped us and suggested I go to O'Berry's to have the flat fixed. We arrived with a packed car and 2 dogs. Bruce at the counter was so very helpful and nice and Mike fixed our flat with a smile and genuine kindness! Our flat was a bump in the road and stalled our travel time, but the experience at O'Berry's was fabulous! Really nice group of people! Thank you Bruce and Mike!
Well pleased, thank You for your service.
